New week - new impressions
It was very hard to get up early and go to the work after the weekend that we have...O, lets talk about the weekend. At Sutarday we have great sport competition: bicycle peac tour, what slowly become a boat trip to the ilend where boys were jumping from the clives. On Sunday we were resting in the Mariebad, the most famost places was water slide and jaccuzzi.
And now a little bit about the begin of our new work week. But we are shure that it is better to see than to read. Let's start.

The real meaning of solidarity
It is an opportunity to work in a multinational group.young people from different countries and background are working for the same mission. To serve Humanity and try to make a change in a world which is becoming more and more materialistic.
That day was the Hirochima comemoration day,all we were preparing for that gathering where the people from Aland came and participate,by putting some candles in the sea.Emmaus Aland has been commemorating this day from 20 years.each year there is a speech about something happening in the world.this year it was about Afghanistan.what it is reamarquable, that people here are living in Peace but they do care a lot about what is happening in the world.and try to make some actions on the individual or collective level.which is very impressive and admirable.while the capitalist countries are trying to abuse the south of the world,by creating wars and disease.to get all the ressources existing on earth.
i realy appreciate this work, where we exchange experience and explore different approaches of the Development work, where the conditions of poverty are different.but the suffer is the same and common between all the marginalised human on earth.
It is necessary to mention that the residency here is very comfortable, they respect our work and we have a lot of time for making other activities, out of work.also the issue of cooking is very admirable, where all the participant are cooking their national food.it is a way to explore other culture with a very delicious language!!!

Tuesday, kind of
What a day!
The so called study trip to Byggretur - the place where second hand furniture and building material is sold - was pretty exciting to all of us. Guys were going from one sofa to another one, trying their softness and hardness, posing for the photographs and some of us were just dreaming secretly of buying some wardrobe for a good price.
In the evening everybody came to Carinas place for the barbecue. While the food was still being prepared we were taken to the secret (!) beach. The wonderman Peppino showed us a very good example of a truly nature-loving spirit: he simply jumped inte the lagoon with his trousers on and swam away screaming gladly. We decided that he lied about his age. He is not 60, he is rather 16. Moments like this are unforgetable.
Plenty of raspberries, bare foots on the soft grass, the proud fluffy cat and the countryside surrounding - these are the things that are the must of a real summer. I shouldn’t forget to mention the hedgehog that rejected to eat the piece of sausage though it eagerly devoured the rests of our grilled bananas with chocolate stuffing. To be honest, I was bitten by this animal at least three times because of my childish desire to touch all the living creatures so I hope that I won’t get any disease!
By the way, I should thank Danya for the Lebanese food that she prepared to us. Most of all I loved the salad with mint - that was something special that I’ve never tried before.
All in all, I ought say that I’ve already started to fell in love with the fellows that are surrounding me during this camp. I really admire the fact that everyone here is so different though tolerant and charming. You are beautiful.

The sky was bright from early mornig. An ideal day for opening of the camp. Gradually, everybody has arrived from their countries. This year, there will be 13 people participating this camp, from many countries : Lithuania, Ukraine, Italy, England, Slovakia and France.
On Sunday, we made a little walk on the seashore before taking our dinner at Emmaüs, thereby meeting Carina.
On Monday, we began the work at Emmaüs : sorting out some shoes and clothes and then packing them so that they can be sent in other countries such as Peru.
Giedre and Luka took care of cooking, and made some tasty things for us.
Then we went back home at Tvårsan under the rain, by foot for the unfortunate ones that went into trouble with their bikes...:)
Since this evening, the weather has been good,
sunny and a bit windy. And everything is going on very well.

Hiroshima, pillows and tools
Today i have cleaned up in the Emmaus workshop. I have checked that all screwdrivers, drilling machines and such work, sorted tools and just organized it in general.
When i had finsihed the workshop cleanup, it was time for a meeting on how to organize the hiroshima commemoration evening.
The rest of the day i have searched up some more pillows and learned how to use the baling machine.
Everything is coming together really good and the weather here is sunny and warm right now.
The lovely sign from last years camp

First day of preparations
Hello
Today we have started the practical preparations for the camp. We have gotten access to "Tvärsan" the youth centre house, where all of you will stay during the camp.
The day began with finding and collecting mattresses, folding beds and pillows that were scattered all over the Emmaus building. One of the turns i drove to Tvärsan i had 13(!) folding beds in the back of the car.
However the Tvärsan house is a really nice one, its rather roomy and has really pleasant interior with lots of sofas. The garden is even better, it consists of a big lawn with apple-trees all over, some redcurrant bushes and two nice tables you can hang around at during the evenings(if there isn´t to much mosqitoes of course...)
In the afternoon i started preparing the information folder, wich you will get when you arrive. In it there will be things such as: a map of Mariehamn, a list of events and sights, tips on things to do on your free time and so on.
The stuff i took to Tvärsan today
